Sports Betting Begins Across Kentucky
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – It was a historic day for the Bluegrass State, with hundreds of Kentuckians betting on sports for the first time.
Governor Andy Beshear placed the first bet at Churchill Downs and the sportsbook during the grand opening ceremony. Beshear set his $20 accumulator to over-win the University of Kentucky and University of Louisville football teams, and under-win the Duke University football team. The 4,444 residents we spoke to at Ellis Park said they can't wait to bet on their favorite sports. 아시안커넥트 회원가입"It's nice to be able to bet like anyone else in every other state and not have to face any penalties or fines," said Michael Bethel, an avid horse racing fan. 토토사이트추천
The law was passed in time for NFL season, which Kathy Turner says is her favorite time of the year. Turner said he plans to bet on the Sept. 28 season opener both online and at Ellis Park.
"That's great, but at the same time I feel like I'm going to spend more money," Turner says. 해외 배팅사이트 먹튀검증
Ellis Park already attracts thousands of visitors each year, and officials expect that number to grow. Matt Presley, the park's general manager, said dozens of people started gathering within hours of the gambling kiosk opening.
"These are customers who are passionate about sports and are passionate about betting and sports betting. There's excitement in the air and people are looking forward to coming to Kentucky to make these bets." Presley says.
By law, bettors can bet on most collegiate and professional sports, including international events. However, betting on sporting events for youth sports is still prohibited. You must be at least 18 years old to bet on sports in Kentucky.
